Botz 9348 Frühlingsgrün liquid glaze is a glossy, opaque glaze in a bright apple green for earthenware. It is ready to use, is brushed onto bisque-fired ceramics and gives a plain, even surface with no special effects.

The recommended firing range is 1020–1060 °C, within which the glaze stays stable. It can be fired up to 1100 °C and, according to Botz, is also suitable for raku. Botz 9501 Karneval, for example, works well if you want to combine it with a second colour.

Applying the glaze

Stir the glaze well, as it settles in the container. If necessary, thin it with a little water. Brush it onto the bisque-fired ceramics and let each coat dry thoroughly. If the colour is not yet opaque enough, apply another coat. A test piece on your own clay will show you beforehand how the green turns out.

Firing and choosing a glaze

Fire within the range of 1020–1060 °C. This is the range in which the glaze stays stable, according to Botz. The glaze is suitable for earthenware, and its glossy, opaque finish makes it a good choice if you want a plain, clear surface. For textures or colour gradients, choose another glaze from the series or combine it with a second colour.
