The da Vinci series 116 enamel paint brush is a sturdy brush with fawn hog bristles for simple painting jobs: priming, touching up, making colour tests and varnishing. It can also be used to apply glaze to ceramics.

What the brush is suited for

The stiff hog bristles hold a lot of material and apply it evenly. The brush is therefore suitable for opaque, solvent-based paints and varnishes, as well as grease, lubricant, adhesive and glue. It is not made for fine details or precise brushwork; for those, a soft brush with a fine tip is a better choice.

Choosing a size and applying glaze

Wide sizes cover surfaces more quickly, while narrow ones reach corners and edges better. With glaze on ceramics, this lets you apply larger areas evenly. Use a brush that has never come into contact with paint or grease, so that no residues get onto the clay body.
