Working with the round brush
For fine lines, touch the tip lightly to the surface and draw the brush with little pressure. With more pressure the fibres spread and the line becomes wider. The brush suits acrylic and gouache paints thinned with water. Rinse it with water after painting and leave it to dry lying flat. If it is left standing on its fibres in a water pot, the tip will bend.
Which size to choose
Use small sizes such as 0 or 2 for outlines, lettering and small details. Medium and large sizes fill areas more quickly, for example backgrounds or larger motifs. For school and hobby use, two or three sizes are often enough: a fine one for details, a medium one and a larger one for areas.
