Efco opaque enamel powder – opaque jewellery enamel for sifting on
Efco opaque enamel powder is an opaque jewellery enamel for pieces made of copper, silver and gold. Opaque means the colour covers the metal beneath, so it does not show through. The powder is fired within a range of 780–850 °C. The tin contains 45 g.
The powder is very finely ground. You can apply it evenly with a small sieve without lumps forming. Choose your colour from the options.
Applying the powder
The metal piece should be clean and free of grease before you apply the powder. Put some powder into a small sieve and tap it out evenly over the piece. A thin, even layer works better than a thick coat. If needed, fire first and then add another layer. Firing is carried out within a range of 780–850 °C. Work in a way that keeps dust to a minimum and do not breathe in the fine powder.
Colour effect and base metal
With enamel, colour differences can occur depending on the base metal. A test piece on the metal you will use later shows you beforehand how the colour looks after firing.
