Gütermann sew-all thread 200 m – polyester sewing thread for machine and hand
Gütermann sew-all thread is a sewing thread made from 100 % polyester for machine and hand sewing. Each reel holds 200 m, which is enough for alterations, repairs and smaller sewing projects. Choose your colour from the options.
With a thickness of No./Tkt. 100 (dtex 300(2)), the sew-all thread is a standard thread for most everyday sewing. You can use it for joining seams, topstitching, overlock and safety seams, buttonholes and sewing on buttons. Decorative stitches and seams can also be sewn with it.
What the sew-all thread is suitable for
As the sew-all thread is intended for all fabrics and seam types, you do not have to choose between different threads for most jobs. You use the same thread for fine decorative stitches, buttonholes or heavily stressed topstitching. The even thread structure, without thin or thick spots, gives a smooth sewing flow. For seams on very stretchy fabrics, it is best to make a test swatch first.
Sewing with the sew-all thread
Choose a needle to suit the thread and use the same thread for both the upper thread and the bobbin. This keeps the stitching even. Check the stitch length and thread tension on an offcut of your fabric before sewing the actual seam.
- Needle: universal needle NM 70–90
- Sewing machine: place the thread on the spool pin as usual and wind the bobbin
- Hand sewing: cut a fairly short length of thread so that it does not twist
Which reel size?
Gütermann sew-all thread is also available in 500 m and 1,000 m. The 200 m reel suits occasional sewing and individual projects. For larger projects where you need a lot of thread in the same colour, a larger reel is worthwhile.
