The Gütermann Nostalgie Box 1925 is a sewing thread set with 8 reels of sew-all thread, 100 m each, in a metal box with a nostalgic 1925 advertising design. The thread is 100 % polyester and, according to Gütermann, is intended for seams sewn by machine and by hand. Uses

According to Gütermann, the sew-all thread is suitable for construction seams, topstitching and decorative stitching on all fabrics and many other materials. The box contains black (000) and white (800) plus six more shades in classic basic colours. That covers many everyday jobs, such as hems, sewing on buttons or repairs.

Before you sew

Choose a universal needle, NM 70–90, and take the reel that suits your fabric. If an exact colour match isn't important, a slightly darker thread is usually less noticeable in the seam than a lighter one. Test the tension and stitch length on a scrap of fabric before you start sewing.
