Gütermann Sew-All Thread 500 m – polyester sewing thread for machine and hand

Gütermann Sew-All is an all-round sewing thread made of 100 % polyester for machine and hand sewing. Each reel holds 500 m. The thread is intended for all fabrics and types of seam, from joining seams to decorative stitches. Choose your colour from the options.

The thread is even, with no thin or thick spots. This gives smooth, steady sewing and a neat stitch. At No./Tkt. 100 (dtex 300(2)), it is a versatile standard weight that you can use for everyday projects, from trouser hems to cushion covers.

What to use Sew-All for

Sew-All covers the typical sewing jobs. Suitable for both machine and hand sewing, you can use it for:

• Joining seams and topstitching
• Overlock and safety seams
• Buttonholes and sewing on buttons
• Fine decorative stitches and decorative seams

Needle and settings

Gütermann recommends a universal needle NM 70–90 for this thread. Sew a test seam on an offcut of fabric before starting your project and check the stitch and thread tension. If you use the same thread for both the top thread and the bobbin thread, the seam will be more even.

Which reel size to choose

The same Sew-All series is also available in 200 m and 1,000 m. The 500 m reel sits in between: it suits you if 200 m runs out too quickly, but you don't need a very large reel. For larger projects, allow a little extra thread and buy it in the same colour at the same time.
