Prym Tapestry Needles Set – 3 Needles with Rounded Tip and Gold Eye

The Prym tapestry needles set (art. no. 124119) contains three tapestry needles in three lengths for embroidery and for sewing up knitted pieces. The needles are made of rust-resistant steel and have a rounded tip which, according to Prym, is gentle on the wool fibres. The large gold eye is intended for medium to chunky yarn and is easy to thread. According to Prym, the needles are also suitable for Smyrna rugs.

The three sizes cover fine to chunky yarn, so you don't need a new needle for every project.

Which needle for which job?

Choose the needle so that the yarn runs loosely through the eye and isn't squashed as you pull it through. The thickest needle suits chunky yarn; use the slimmer ones for thinner yarn. The blunt tip doesn't pierce the yarn but slides between the stitches. This lets you weave in ends, join seams on knitted pieces and embroider on knitting without splitting individual strands.

Tip for weaving in ends

When weaving in, run the yarn in one direction through the stitches on the wrong side for a short distance, then back again. This holds it better without showing on the right side.
