YKK VISLON zip 30 cm – lightweight, open-ended with plastic teeth

The YKK VISLON zip in 30 cm is a 1-way open-ended zip with 1 slider for jackets, sportswear and motorcycle clothing. The plastic teeth are injection-moulded and firmly attached to the tape. This makes it much lighter than a metal zip of the same length, and it runs smoothly. Tape and teeth are colour-matched, so the zip is barely noticeable on the garment. Choose your colour from the options.

Where the VISLON is used

Thanks to its low weight and sturdy plastic teeth, this zip is often used for jackets, coats, ski suits, sportswear and motorcycle clothing. Open-ended means you can separate the two halves completely at the bottom end, as is usual for an open jacket.

Choosing the length and sewing it in

Measure the opening of your pattern and choose the length accordingly. The VISLON is available in several lengths; this one is 30 cm long. Before sewing, hold the zip in place with pins or clips and sew close along the teeth with a zip foot, but not too close, so that the slider can move freely later.
