YKK VISLON zip 65 cm – open-ended, with plastic teeth

The YKK VISLON zip in 65 cm is an open-ended, single-direction zip with 1 slider, for jackets, sportswear such as ski suits, and motorcycle clothing. The plastic teeth are attached to the tape by injection moulding. This makes it lighter than a metal zip of the same size, which keeps the weight of the front edge down on jackets and sportswear. Tape and teeth are tone on tone. Choose your colour from the options.

The teeth are 5 mm wide and the tape measures 14 mm. With these measurements you can check beforehand whether the seam allowance in your pattern is sufficient.

Inserting into a jacket or coat

With an open-ended zip, you first sew each half separately to the front edges. Line up the bottom edges at exactly the same height so that both sides meet at the hem and the slider threads on cleanly. Secure the tape with pins or sewing clips and use a zip foot so that you can sew close to the teeth without hitting them. Measure the length of the front edge in your pattern before you choose the length. Further lengths are available in the series.
