YKK Zipper 3C DA3 – Metal Slider for Continuous Zip

The YKK Zipper 3C / DA3 is a loose metal zip slider for continuous zips (sold by the metre) with a 3 mm coil. You fit it onto the chain after cutting to length, turning zip by the metre into a finished zip in the length you want. The slider is an auto-lock slider and therefore stays in the position where you let go of it.

Choose your colour from the options. The slider is supplied on its own; no additional parts are included.

Fitting the slider

Cut the zip by the metre to the length you want. Thread both halves of the chain into the slider at the open end at the same time, from the wide side, and pull it a short way over the teeth until they interlock. Cutting the end of the tape slightly at an angle makes threading easier. Then secure the end of the chain with a bottom stop, otherwise the slider will run off again.

Which slider fits?

The slider and the chain must match in size. The 3C / DA3 is intended for coil zips with a chain width of 3 mm, for example YKK zip by the metre in this size. For wider or narrower chains you need a different slider size.
