Vlieseline Decovil 1 light – lightweight iron-on interfacing with a leather-like handle

Decovil 1 light from Vlieseline (Freudenberg) is an iron-on interfacing for bags, belts, hats and home furnishings. It gives fabrics shape and spring and a leather-like handle. At 240 g/m² it is lightweight and easy to work with.

The interfacing is beige and 90 cm wide. It suits cotton, decorative and synthetic fabrics. If you want to sew a bag or accessory that stands up but does not feel stiff, it gives you even adhesion and a soft drape.

How to iron on the interfacing

Place the coated side of the Decovil on the wrong side of the main fabric. Cover both with a damp cloth. Press the iron down section by section for approx. 6 seconds each, without sliding it. Then leave the pieces to cool flat for approx. 30 minutes so that the bond stays secure.

What it is used for

Decovil 1 light is the lighter and slightly softer version of Decovil I. You can use it for bags, belts, hats and decorative projects where the fabric needs support and spring but must not feel hard. Test the adhesion on a fabric scrap first, especially with synthetic fabrics.
