Caran d'Ache Full Blender Bright & Blender Pencil, Blister

Caran d'Ache Blender Set – Full Blender Bright and Blender Pencil for Blending Colours

The Caran d'Ache blister contains one Full Blender Bright and one blender pencil. Both are colourless wax-oil blenders that you can use to fuse, blend and intensify colours from coloured pencils, graphite and wax pastels. They make colours glow without changing the shades.

According to the manufacturer, the blenders form a waterproof layer when applied and increase UV protection. They can be used for blending techniques on paper, card, wood, stone or ceramic. The two pencils complement each other: the blender pencil is a cedarwood pencil with a smooth, colourless 3.8 mm lead, while the Full Blender Bright is made entirely of the wax-oil lead.

Working with the blenders

Apply your colours first, then go over them with the blender. With light pressure you even out areas and smooth transitions; with more pressure you fuse the layers of colour more strongly. On finished drawings you can intensify the colours with the blender and so apply a waterproof layer.

Blender pencil or Full Blender Bright?

You sharpen the blender pencil like an ordinary pencil and use it for precise work on small areas and edges. The Full Blender Bright is made entirely of lead and has a hexagonal shape. You can sharpen it for details or lay it flat on its side to cover large areas. It is economical to use.
