Meyco Stencil Sponge Brush Set – three round sponge brushes for stencilling

The Meyco stencil brush set (art. no. 14217) contains three round sponge brushes, 15, 25 and 35 mm in diameter. You use them for stencilling and dabbing, for example on wood, fabric, glass, porcelain and candles. The heads are made of fine-pored foam and sit on short, easy-to-hold wooden handles. With all three sizes, you have the right brush to hand for small motifs and larger areas.

The sponge heads pick up the paint and release it evenly when you press them down. The set works with almost all paints.

Stencilling with the sponge brush

Fix the stencil to the surface with masking tape or spray adhesive. Dab the sponge into a little paint and dab off excess paint on a palette or a plate until the sponge only feels slightly damp. Then hold the brush upright and dab from the edge of the stencil inwards instead of brushing. The less paint in the sponge, the cleaner the edges stay. For stronger colour, dab a second time rather than picking up plenty of paint at once. After use, rinse the sponge out with clear water.

Which size for which job?

The 15 mm brush suits small motifs, narrow bridges and the corners of the stencil. With the 25 mm brush you can work medium-sized areas, and the 35 mm brush fills large motifs more quickly.
