Vlieseline Vliesofix fusible web – iron-on appliqué, 90 cm wide

With Vlieseline Vliesofix you bond fabrics and other materials together permanently by ironing. The transparent fusible web sits on a backing paper, which also serves as a drawing and ironing aid. It is sold by the metre in a width of 90 cm.

Vliesofix bonds on both sides. You can use it to appliqué motifs onto clothing and home textiles, repair textiles, or for crafts and napkin decoupage. It is suitable for fabrics, raffia, card and wood, and for leather at a low temperature.

Appliquéing with Vliesofix

Draw your motif in mirror image on the paper side, so that it faces the right way round after ironing. The rough adhesive side faces the fabric.

• Place Vliesofix with the adhesive side on the back of the appliqué fabric and press the paper with the iron
• Leave to cool and cut out the motif together with the paper
• Peel off the backing paper, place the motif on the base fabric and iron it on
• For leather and delicate fabrics, test the temperature and ironing time on an offcut first

What you can use it for

The fusible web holds appliqués exactly in shape, so they do not slip when you sew them on. Because it also bonds card, wood and raffia, you can use it just as well for crafts and decoupage with napkins. A small offcut is handy for quick repairs, for example on tears or frayed edges.
