Black round elastic cord – 3 mm Ø, sold by the metre and cut to length
This black round elastic is a 3 mm diameter elastic cord, sold by the metre and cut to length. You can use it for sewing and crafts wherever something needs to be held elastically, for example for elasticated casings, hair accessories, bracelets or costume pieces.
The elastic is made of 34% polyester and 66% elastic. It has a stretch of 140% and strong recovery, so it keeps its tension even with frequent stretching. It is washable at 40 °C, so it also suits textiles that are washed regularly.
Using the round elastic
Measure the length you need on the relaxed elastic and allow a little extra for knots or seams. For elastic in a casing, thread it through with a safety pin and knot or sew the ends firmly. As the elastic is round and measures 3 mm, you need a casing or opening that it can slide through without friction. The white round elastic in the same thickness is also available.
