White round elastic 3 mm – stretchy elastic cord sold by the metre

This white round elastic is a round elastic cord approx. 3 mm in diameter, cut to length and sold by the metre. It is made of 34% polyester and 66% elastic, with 140% stretch and a strong pull. It is suitable for threading through casings, for hair accessories, bracelets and other sewing and craft projects where a stretchy hold is needed.

The elastic is washable at 40 °C. You can therefore also use it in textiles that you wash regularly.

Using the round elastic

Because the cord stretches, cut it shorter than the measurement it will go around. The right length depends on your project. Measure the length on a test piece first, then cut the rest. Thread the elastic through a casing with a safety pin or a bodkin. Knot the ends or stitch them with needle and thread.

Choosing the right one

The 3 mm round elastic is also available in black in the same design. Choose white if the elastic should match light fabrics or will remain visible.
