Prym tailor's chalk tiles – yellow and blue for marking fabric

You use the Prym tailor's chalk tiles, set of 2 (art. no. 611816), to transfer cutting lines, darts and other markings onto fabric. The pack contains one yellow and one blue tile, each approx. 50 × 50 mm. The two colours let you tell different markings apart, for example cutting line and dart.

The chalk can be used on almost all fabrics. The markings can be removed again.

Marking with the tiles

Lay the pattern on the fabric, fix it in place and run one edge of the tile along the cutting edge. The edge makes thin lines that are more accurate than strokes made with the flat side. Do not press too hard, so that the tile does not break and the line stays narrow. If you still move the fabric after marking, mark only just before cutting, because chalk lines can smudge when rubbed.

Choosing the colour

Yellow and blue are intended especially for light fabrics, as they are clearly visible there. For dark fabrics, it is better to use white chalk; it is available from Prym as a separate set of 2. Test how well the marking comes off on a fabric offcut beforehand, especially on delicate fabrics and dark colours.
