Prym chalk pencils with brush – marking fabric accurately

With the Prym chalk pencils (art. no. 611628) you can mark and draw on fabric accurately when dressmaking and sewing. The pack of 4 contains two white pencils, one blue and one pink. Each pencil has its own protective cap with a plastic brush at the end. You use it to brush the chalk lines out of the fabric later.

The pencils are made of wood and chalk powder and are 11 cm long. Because you hold them like a pencil, lines and markings come out much finer than with a wide piece of chalk.

Marking and removing the lines

Lay the fabric flat on a firm surface and draw the line with the tip, without pressing hard. To remove it, put the cap on and brush the chalk out of the weave with the plastic brush. Try this on a scrap of fabric before you work on the actual piece, especially with fine or dark fabrics.

Which colour for what?

The two white pencils are intended for dark fabrics, while blue and pink show up well on light fabrics. That way you have a suitable pencil to hand for different fabrics and markings, such as seam lines and darts.
