CLOVER self-threading needles – threading without the fuss
Clover self-threading needles are hand sewing needles with a built-in threader. At the top, each needle has a U-shaped notch: you lay the thread into it and pull it downwards, and it threads itself into the eye of the needle. This helps most if you have poor eyesight, change thread often or need to thread many needles in a row.
The set contains 5 needles in 5 different sizes. That gives you suitable needles for fine, light fabrics and for coarse, heavy fabrics.
How to thread
Hold the needle with the eye at the top and lay the thread from the side into the U-shaped notch at the tip of the eye. Then pull it downwards: the thread slips into the eye and the needle is threaded. Do not pull the thread under the upper eye, otherwise it will not thread properly.
Which needle to choose
The thinner 0.64 mm needles are intended for fine, light fabrics, the thicker needles up to 0.89 mm for coarse, heavy fabrics. Use the short needles for sewing and the long ones for tacking.
