Lang Yarns Wooladdicts SWEET is a summer yarn in 55% cotton and 45% viscose from bamboo. You can knit light jumpers, tops, T-shirts, shawls and summery accessories with it. One ball weighs 50 g and has a length of approx. 135 m; the yarn weight is DK. The cotton makes it breathable, while the bamboo viscose gives a silky sheen and a fluid drape. Choose your colour from the options.

The yarn glides softly through your hands and produces an even, smooth stitch pattern. That is an advantage for garments worn directly against the skin.

What to use SWEET for

The smooth, even fabric shows simple textures such as stocking stitch, rib or simple cables and lace patterns clearly. The drape of the yarn shows to best effect in pieces that sit loosely on the body: tops, T-shirts, summer jumpers and shawls. Yarns made from cotton and viscose spring back less than wool yarns. So don't knit tops too tightly, and allow for a little stretching in length.

Quantity and tension

With approx. 135 m per ball, it is easy to work out how much you need: divide the yardage given in your pattern by 135 and round up. Buy all the balls for a project at the same time if possible, so that the colour stays consistent. For 3.5–4 mm needles, the ball band gives a tension of 22 stitches and 31 rows over 10 × 10 cm. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide. Wash and dry your swatch the way you intend to care for the finished piece, and only then measure it.
