Baby Cotton Naturally Colored from Lang Yarns is a knitting yarn made of 100% cotton (organic) that is not dyed. According to Lang, the cotton grows in natural shades of green, ivory and brown. The range of 7 shades is created by plying these three base colours together. Because no dyeing is needed, the yarn comes into contact with fewer chemicals that could irritate the skin, according to Lang. Lang therefore describes it as particularly suitable for babies and sensitive skin. Choose your colour from the options.

One ball weighs 50 g and has a length of approx. 180 m. You can use this to plan the yarn requirements for your project based on the length given in your pattern. Lang classifies the yarn weight as sport, with a recommended needle size of 2.5–3 mm.

Cultivation and special features of the yarn

According to Lang, the cotton comes from regenerative farming: free of pesticides, grown without machinery, without genetically modified seed and irrigated only with rainwater. According to Lang, the yarn saves up to 90% water compared with conventional cotton. Because the shades come from the fibre itself, they look soft and natural. This suits simple knitted pieces in which the colour of the yarn takes centre stage.

Knitting and care

With 2.5–3 mm needles you knit a fine, even stitch pattern that suits detailed work and lightweight knitting projects. The ball band figure of 25 stitches and 34 rows over 10 × 10 cm is only a guide. What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide. For washing, use a detergent for delicates, according to Lang.
