Clover Patchwork Pins – Sharp Points, Heat-Resistant Glass Heads

Clover patchwork pins (art. no. 232) hold layers of fabric together when sewing and quilting. You get 100 pins, 0.5 mm thick and 36 mm long. According to Clover, they have very sharp points and a small glass head that can be ironed over.

The pins are thin and short and suit patchwork, quilting and fine fabrics. Because the head is heat-resistant, you can pin pieces in place and run the iron over them without damaging the head.

Using the pins for patchwork

Pin the fabric pieces together along the seam lines, ideally at right angles to the seam. That way you can remove the pins before they reach the sewing machine needle. Do not sew over the pins, so that neither the needle nor the machine is damaged. For seam allowances that you press before sewing on, leave the pins in place. The glass head withstands the heat produced when ironing, according to Clover. The pins are short and fine, so they are not always the best choice for several layers of fabric or thick seam intersections.
