Clover appliqué pins – short pins for appliqué work

Clover appliqué pins (art. no. 231) hold appliqués and small pieces of fabric in place while you sew them on. At just under 2 cm long, they are much shorter than ordinary pins. According to Clover, the short pins do not stick out, which makes them particularly suitable for appliqué work.

The pin is 0.6 mm thick. It is made of steel, with a polyester head. The pins are stored in a polypropylene container.

When to use short pins

With appliqué, you often pin small pieces of fabric close together on the base fabric. Long pins stick out a long way and get in the way when sewing by hand. Short pins hold the appliqué and the background together without being in the way. They are too short for thicker layers of fabric, for example when pinning seams together. For those, use longer pins instead.
