CLOVER Ring Thimble with Plate – adjustable thimble for long needles
The CLOVER ring thimble with plate (art. no. 611) is an open metal thimble in ring form that protects your finger when sewing by hand. You wear it like a ring on your middle finger, with the plate facing inwards towards your palm. The ring is open and can be adjusted to the size of your finger. It also suits thick needles.
It is particularly useful when you work with long needles, for example for running and tacking stitches or for sashiko. Here you push the needle through the fabric over longer distances, and the plate protects your skin from the end of the needle.
Using the ring thimble
Adjust the open ring to your middle finger so that it fits snugly, and wear it with the plate towards your palm. Use the plate to push the end of the needle through the fabric, especially with several layers or long stitches. Choose the Clover ring thimble, then, when you use long needles. For short stitches with fine needles, a closed thimble is usually the better choice.
