Clover Roll & Press – press seams and creases flat without an iron

The Clover "Roll & Press" seam roller (art. no. 7812) presses seams and creases flat right at your sewing station, so you don't need to fetch the iron. You roll it over straight seams, curved seams or paper-pieced seams. The wheel is tapered and concentrates the pressure on the seam. This leaves no seam imprint on the right side of the work, and according to Clover the fabric is not pulled or distorted. The handle is ergonomically shaped.

Pressing a seam

Place the work on a firm surface with the seam allowance facing up. Run the seam roller along the centre of the seam. You can press the seam open or to one side, and a crease can be flattened in the same way. Use only moderate pressure and do not roll over the same spot repeatedly: too much or repeated pressure can stretch the fabric.

What it is suited to

The seam roller suits paper piecing and laminates. You can also use it to press down glued seams on leather and felt. To clean it, use a mild detergent; avoid thinners and petrol.
