Prym Hem Ironing Rulers – measure, fold and press hems in one step

The Prym hem ironing rulers (art. no. 611937) are two hem gauges for measuring, folding and pressing in a single step. You set the hem width on the ruler, fold the fabric over it and press the edge in place. The rulers are heat-resistant and can be used again and again.

The set contains two sizes: 10 × 30 cm and 5 × 15 cm. Both can be used on either side. The front has a vertical metric scale for shortening trouser and sleeve hems, and the back has a horizontal scale for long, straight hems.

Pressing a hem with the ruler

Place the ruler against the edge of the fabric with the appropriate scale facing up and set the hem width you want. Fold the fabric over the ruler and press the edge along the ruler. The hem then has the same width along its whole length, and you do not need to re-measure with a tape measure and pins. Set the iron to the temperature suited to the fabric you are working on.

Which side and which size?

For trouser and sleeve hems, use the front with the vertical scale. For long, straight hems, for example on curtains or lengths of fabric, use the back with the horizontal scale. The larger ruler, 30 cm long, covers longer stretches, while the small 15 cm ruler suits shorter sections.
