The Prym Omnigrid universal ruler 10 × 45 cm (art. no. 611318) is a transparent ruler for measuring, marking and cutting when sewing, quilting and for graphic work. The yellow/black grid print is easy to read on both light and dark fabrics. The scratch-resistant laser print is on the underside, which rules out optical distortion.

The ruler is made of thick, hard-wearing plastic and guides rotary cutters and pull knives safely along the edge.

Using the ruler

Its long, narrow shape is suited to cutting fabric strips and patchwork pieces. The angle markings help with triangles, diamonds and bias strips. Line up a grid line exactly with the fabric edge or the seam line before you mark or cut.

• Hold the ruler firmly in place with a flat hand while cutting, keeping your fingers behind the edge.
• Always cut away from your body with the rotary cutter, along the edge of the ruler.

Which size to choose

At 10 × 45 cm, this ruler is narrow and long, which suits strips and long cuts. The series also includes universal rulers in 15 × 30 cm and 15 × 60 cm for wider pieces.
