Clover red iron-on transfer pencil – transfer patterns with an iron

With the Clover iron-on transfer pencil in red (art. no. 5004), you draw patterns and transfer them to fabric, paper or wood with an iron. It is intended for appliqué and doll patterns, patchwork and embroidery designs. According to Clover, the drawn pattern can be transferred 2–3 times, so one drawing gives you several copies.

The pencil is also available in blue. Choose the colour that shows up better on your fabric.

How to transfer a pattern

You draw the design on tracing paper, and the iron does the transferring.

• Place the tracing paper over the template and trace the pattern with the pencil.
• Lay the tracing paper on the fabric with the drawn side facing down.
• Press with the iron until the pattern appears on the fabric.
• The same tracing paper can be ironed on once or twice more.

Good to know

The design is mirrored when ironed on. Lettering or motifs with a fixed direction should therefore be drawn in reverse. Do a test on a scrap of fabric first to check the ironing temperature and line strength for your fabric.
