Prym metal thimble – protects your finger and guides the needle securely

The Prym thimble in die-cast zinc protects your fingertip from needle pricks when hand sewing, quilting and embroidering. The anti-slip rim and the lengthways ridged outer surface guide the needle so that it does not slip as you push it through. This helps most when you are sewing through several layers of fabric.

The thimble is available in sizes from Ø 14 to 18 mm. Choose the size from the options.

How to use the thimble

When hand sewing, wear the thimble on the finger you use to push the needle through the fabric from behind, usually the middle finger. Place the end of the needle against the rim of the tip and push the needle through the fabric. The ridges keep it in position as you do so. The thimble should fit firmly without pinching and should not slip off when you move your finger. Choose the size accordingly. When quilting, where the needle has to pass through several layers and the wadding, this gives you more control and less pressure on your fingertip.
