The point is finely and slimly ground, and the eye is punched burr-free so that it is gentle on the thread and the fabric. The surface has a smooth, pore-free coating. According to Prym, the spring temper is matched so that the needles do not bend or break when sewing.

Medium length or long?

Medium length needles are shorter than long needles. For short stitches, for example when backstitching or quilting, this gives you good control and lets you work quickly. According to Prym, they still have the same wire diameter as long needles of the same size, so you choose by size as usual.

Which size is right?

The assortment covers sizes 3 to 7. The higher the number, the finer the needle. Use fine sizes for thin fabrics and small stitches, and stronger ones for denser weaves. Try the needle briefly on a scrap of fabric: it should pull through easily without the eye pinching the thread.
