The casing is made of plastic in purple, silver and white. The threader is a handy little helper for anyone who regularly changes needles or thread at the sewing machine.

Threading the needle

A fine metal pin uses a spring action to push the thread through the eye of the sewing machine needle. You then use the hook on the front side of the thread guide to pull the thread all the way through the eye. This saves a lot of frustration, especially with fine needles and poor light.

Inserting and picking up the needle

Place the needle in the needle holder with the point facing down and the shank facing up. This lets you guide it into the sewing machine at the intended spot without touching the fine point. The built-in magnet also helps you pick up a needle from the table, for example.
