Prym Extra Fine Quilting Needles – Pack of 20 with Silver Eye

Prym quilting needles (art. no. 121443) are extra fine specialist needles for quilting. They are 23 mm long with a diameter of 0.53 mm. The pack contains 20 needles with a silver eye.

The needles are made of hardened steel. According to Prym, the length and diameter are matched so that the needle is sturdy yet flexible. The eye is symmetrical and burr-free, so the thread does not fray on the edge of the eye as you sew. The point is specially ground in several stages.

What the extra fine needle is suited to

With the short, thin needle you make the small stitches needed for hand quilting and patchwork. The finer the needle, the smaller the stitches you can make. Thin needles pass through several layers more easily, but they take a little practice because they can bend if you apply too much pressure. This is normal: guide the needle evenly and, for thicker layers, push it through with a thimble.
