PRYM Embroidery Needles No. 7 – Large-Eye Crewel Needles for Embroidery

PRYM embroidery needles No. 7 are crewel needles with a large eye for embroidery and fine hand sewing. You get 16 needles in hardened steel, each 38 mm long and 0.70 mm thick.

The eye is gold-coloured, punched burr-free and smooth. This makes threading easier and is gentle on the thread. The surface is finished to be pore-free, so the needle glides well through the fabric and is protected against rust. According to Prym, the spring hardness is balanced so that the needles do not bend or break easily.

Which number suits your project?

The higher the number, the finer the needle. The range includes No. 5 (41 × 0.80 mm), No. 7 (38 × 0.70 mm) and No. 9 (35 × 0.60 mm). No. 7 sits in the middle: thinner than No. 5, but with a larger eye than a plain sewing needle of this thickness. The eye has to take your embroidery thread, yet the needle should not leave a bigger hole in the fabric than necessary. Test on a scrap of fabric to check that your thread threads easily and pulls through the fabric.

Embroidering without tangles

Do not cut the thread too long; about a forearm's length is enough. A shorter thread knots and frays less while you embroider.
