The Prym between sewing needles No. 5–9 assortment (art. no. 121306) contains 20 hand sewing needles in sizes 5 to 9 on one card. According to Prym, medium-length needles are suited to quick penetration, running stitch, quilting and fine hand sewing such as hems and repairs.

The needles are made of hardened steel. The point is finely ground and slim, and the surface has a smooth, pore-free coating, so the needle glides easily through the fabric. The eye is punched burr-free and so is kind to the thread. Thanks to the matched spring hardness, according to Prym you can sew without bending or breaking the needle.

Which number should you choose?

The higher the number, the finer the needle: No. 9 is the finest needle in the assortment and No. 5 the sturdiest. According to Prym, medium-length needles have the same wire diameter as long needles of the same number, but are shorter. This makes small, quick stitches easier. Choose a needle whose eye takes your thread and which pierces the fabric without force. For fine fabrics, go for the higher numbers; for denser weaves and thicker thread, the lower ones.
