Merino 400 Lace from Lang Yarns is a fine lace yarn in 100 % virgin wool, suited to lace patterns, light shawls and delicate accessories. According to Lang Yarns, the wool comes from extra fine merino sheep and is mulesing-free. The yarn is two-ply and, as a classic lace weight, very thin. It produces an even, delicate stitch definition.

Each ball weighs 25 g and has a length of approx. 200 m, so even small projects are easy to weigh out and plan. Choose your colour from the options.

What Merino 400 Lace is used for

The fine lace weight shows off lace patterns and edgings particularly clearly. It suits shawls, stoles and delicate accessories. With needles of 2.5–3.5 mm you knit the yarn at the size recommended by the manufacturer. If you choose larger needles, the fabric becomes more open and drapes more softly.

Working and care

What matters is the tension given in your pattern; the figure on the ball band is only a guide. Lace patterns usually only open up once you block the finished piece wet and leave it to dry. This works well with this yarn, as the manufacturer recommends drying flat anyway. Lang Yarns gives the following care instructions:
