The Prym template set for 10 patterns (art. no. 611147) contains six templates made of sturdy, clear plastic, which you use to cut classic patchwork blocks for quilts and cushions. The set includes one square and one matching triangle in each of the sizes 2 inch, 2.8 inch and 4 inch. It makes getting started with patchwork straightforward.

The instructions in the pack are in English. They explain the method in five steps and present ten popular patterns, including Card Trick, Spinning Geese, Waterwheel and DoubleT.

Working with the templates

Place the template on the fabric, transfer the outline with a marking pen or tailor's chalk and cut out the pieces. Squares and triangles of the same size fit together, so you can combine them in one block. Read the enclosed instructions before your first block, as the five working steps are explained there. Because the templates are clear, you can see which part of the fabric you are picking up as you position them.

Which size should you choose?

With the smallest size you work with finer pieces and cut more pieces for the same area. With the largest size you need fewer pieces, and the blocks come out larger. As each size is included in the set as both a square and a triangle, you can try out several sizes before deciding on a quilt or a cushion.
