Clover Chacopy tracing paper – transfer sewing patterns to fabric in 5 colours

With Clover Chacopy tracing paper (art. no. 434), you can transfer sewing patterns and quilting or patchwork templates to fabric. The set contains 5 sheets measuring 30 × 25 cm, one each in blue, green, red, white and yellow. This lets you choose a marking colour to suit your fabric: the strong colours show up well on light fabrics, while white is the better choice on dark fabrics.

The lines can usually be washed out again. Test this first on a scrap of fabric.

Transferring a pattern

You transfer the lines in just a few steps:

• Lay the fabric flat on a firm surface.
• Place the tracing paper on the fabric with the coloured side down, and the sewing pattern on top.
• Trace over the lines with a tracing wheel, applying even pressure.
• Lift a corner and check that the line is clearly visible.

Removing the marks

Test the colour on a scrap of fabric before use. Afterwards, wash the marked fabric with water. Do not use an oil-based solvent such as benzene, and do not iron before the marks have been removed. Fluffy fabrics are difficult to mark because of their soft surface.
