DEKA aftertreatment agent for Series L – fixative for better wash fastness
The DEKA aftertreatment agent is a ready-to-use liquid fixative for textiles you have dyed with DEKA batik dye Series L. It improves wash fastness: afterwards, the dyed items can be machine washed at up to 30 °C (delicates). Choose the pack size from the options.
With Series L, fixing is not an optional extra but a fixed step in the process: Series L fabric dye contains no fixative and, without aftertreatment, is neither lightfast nor boil-fast. Without the fixing bath, the colour can bleed when washed.
How to fix dyed textiles
Fix only once the dye has fully developed and the fabric has been rinsed well. The dosage depends on the dry weight of the fabric: according to DEKA, 25 ml in 10 l of lukewarm water is enough for 500 g of fabric.
- Stir the aftertreatment agent into 10 l of lukewarm water.
- Place the dyed, well-rinsed fabric in the bath for about 30 minutes.
- Wring the fabric out lightly, do not rinse again, then hang up and leave to dry.
What to bear in mind
The aftertreatment agent is intended exclusively for batik dye Series L. Do not rinse the fabric after the fixing bath, otherwise you will wash the agent out again. After fixing, wash the items at 30 degrees at most on a delicates cycle.
