Clover Fusible Tape 5 mm – for iron-on bias binding and temporary fixing
Clover iron-on fusible tape (art. no. 4041) is an adhesive tape in cobweb form. Used with the Clover bias tape maker, it turns into iron-on bias binding. The tape is 5 mm wide and the roll is 25 m long.
According to Clover, the fusible tape keeps the fabric soft and preserves its feel. You can also use it to hold appliqués or fabric pieces temporarily in place before sewing them on, for example in Celtic quilts and stained glass quilts. The adhesive coating is enough to iron the finished bias binding on again later.
Using the tape
Insert the fusible tape into the bias tape maker. With the iron, it is then joined into iron-on bias binding in a single step. To fix appliqués or fabric pieces temporarily, iron the tape on. Ironing temperature and further instructions for use are given in the enclosed leaflet.
Which width to choose
This series also includes the fusible tape in a 10 mm width with 12 m per roll. The 5 mm roll offers more length at 25 m and suits narrower bias binding.
