YKK VISLON zip 60 cm – light, sturdy and open-ended

The YKK VISLON zip in 60 cm length is an open-ended, single-slider zip, for example for jackets and sportswear. The plastic teeth are moulded directly onto the tape. This makes it lighter than a metal zip of the same length while still being strong.

Teeth and tape are colour-matched, so the zip does not stand out on the jacket. The teeth are 5 mm wide and the tape is 14 mm. It runs smoothly and is suitable for jackets, sportswear and motorcycle clothing. Choose your colour from the options.

Inserting an open-ended zip

With an open-ended zip, you sew the two tape halves separately to the fabric edges. First secure them with pins or clips and make sure both sides start at the same height at the top and bottom, otherwise the edges will sit out of line once closed. Sew close to the teeth using a zip foot.

Which length do you need?

Measure the distance the zip needs to cover on your garment, from the hem to the base of the collar, and add seam allowances. The VISLON series is available in other lengths, so you can choose the right one for a jacket, waistcoat or sportswear.
