Prym skirt hem marker – mark the hem all the way round with chalk powder

With the Prym skirt hem marker, you mark the hem of a skirt or dress all the way round with fine chalk powder. The chalk dispenser sits on an 80 cm metal stand and is fixed at the height you need for the hem. Use the bulb to puff the powdered tailor's chalk onto the fabric. This gives an even marking without you having to place pins or draw each line individually.

According to Prym, the weighted base makes the marker very stable, and the scale on the base helps you set the height. A container with 15 g of chalk powder is included.

Marking the hem

Place the hem marker on a level surface and fix the dispenser at the height where the hem is to fall. The person wearing the garment stands beside it, with the fabric hanging smooth and free. Squeeze the bulb and work your way step by step round the garment until the chalk line is closed all the way round. The fabric does not distort, because you do not need to touch it or draw on it.

Good to know

The metal stand extends to 80 cm. For hem heights below that, set the dispenser correspondingly lower. When the chalk powder has run out, refill the container with suitable tailor's chalk powder.
