Prym hem marker – marking hemlines all the way round with chalk powder

With the Prym hem marker (art. no. 611759) you mark the hemline of skirts and dresses all the way round with fine chalk powder. The applicator sits on a plastic pole that you can set to a height of up to 80 cm. The pole has a cm scale, so you can read off the hem height and set it the same way every time.

The base is weighted and, according to Prym, keeps the marker stable. You apply the chalk powder to the fabric with the bellows. The powder is included.

How to mark a hem

Put the skirt on or hang it up and stand the hem marker beside it. Set the applicator on the pole to the hem height, which you can read off the scale. Squeeze the bellows until the chalk powder lands as a fine dot on the fabric. Turn yourself or the skirt a little at a time and make marks all the way round. Then join the dots with a ruler or tailor's chalk to form a continuous hemline. Place the dots close together, especially on full, flared skirts.
