Prym transparent sewing thread, light – almost invisible seams on fine fabrics

Prym transparent sewing thread, light (art. no. 977620) is a very fine 100% polyamide thread for almost invisible seams. It suits fine fabrics such as silk, as well as colourfully patterned and transparent fabrics where a coloured thread would stand out.

The 200 m are wound on a sewing machine spool, so you can put the thread straight into your sewing machine. A groove in the base and lid of the spool holds the thread in place when you are not using it. The thread has high tear resistance and is washable up to 95 °C.

Light or dark?

The light thread suits pale fabrics. For patterned or transparent fabrics, go by the background colour of the fabric. For dark fabrics, Prym's transparent thread is also available in dark.

Getting good seams

A smooth, fine thread behaves differently from ordinary sewing thread. Sew a test seam on a scrap of fabric first.

• Adjust the thread tension if necessary and check it on the scrap
• Sew evenly and at a fairly moderate speed
• Test the ironing temperature on the scrap, as polyamide is sensitive to heat
