Prym transparent sewing thread, dark – almost invisible seams on dark and fine fabrics

Prym transparent sewing thread in the dark shade is a very fine thread made of 100 % polyamide for almost invisible seams. It is particularly suitable for fine fabrics such as silk, as well as for patterned and sheer fabrics. Use the dark shade on dark fabrics.

The 200 m is wound onto a sewing machine spool, so you can use the thread straight in your machine. It can also be used for hand sewing. According to Prym, the thread has high tear resistance. A groove in the base and lid of the spool holds the thread in place when you are not sewing.

Dark or light?

Choose the shade to suit your fabric: the dark thread matches dark fabrics, while Prym transparent sewing thread in the light shade is available for light fabrics. On multicoloured patterned fabrics the seam is least visible if you choose the thread shade to match the predominant lightness of the fabric.

Sewing with transparent thread

The fine thread slips easily and is sensitive to excessive tension. Sew a test seam on a fabric scrap before you start on your project.

• Check the thread tension on a fabric scrap and adjust if necessary
• Sew at a medium to low speed
• After sewing, secure the spool using the groove in the base or lid so the thread does not unwind
