Efco Aluminium Wire ø 1 mm – Coloured Craft and Jewellery Wire, 10 m

Efco anodised aluminium wire is a coloured craft and floristry wire, 1 mm in diameter and 10 m long. You can shape and bend it easily by hand, for example for decorative figures, wire jewellery, floral arrangements or for wrapping and joining craft pieces. Choose your colour from the options.

At 1 mm the wire is thin and delicate. It suits fine shapes, spirals and coils. For larger, freestanding objects, the thicker aluminium wire of ø 2 mm from the same range is the sturdier choice.

Working with the wire

Aluminium is soft and can be bent without tools. Use round-nose pliers for loops, spirals and eyelets, and side cutters to cut it to length, as scissors will be damaged. Wind the wire in even coils around a pen or round rod if you want to form spirals or springs.

Tip for bending

Do not bend one spot back and forth repeatedly, as aluminium quickly becomes brittle at the bend. It is better to plan your shape in advance and form it with a few deliberate bends.
