Efco anodised aluminium wire, ø 2 mm, is intended for craft and floristry projects and for decorations. You shape and bend it by hand. The reel is 5 m long and weighs approx. 42 g, so you can gauge your project easily. The wire comes in 15 colours; choose your colour from the options.

Anodised means the aluminium surface has been electrochemically treated and coloured. The wire stays light and flexible.

Working with the wire

At 2 mm, the wire is sturdy enough for shapes to stand firm, yet it can still be bent by hand. For even spirals, wind it around a round rod; for loops and eyelets, use round-nose pliers. Side cutters are suited to cutting it to length. Bare aluminium is exposed at the cut, so roll the ends in or bend them over. Bend each point only once if possible: repeated bending back and forth makes aluminium brittle at that spot.

Which diameter to choose

The 2 mm thickness suits shapes that need to hold their form, such as decorative figures, floral arrangements or hangers. For delicate work, choose the thinner aluminium wire ø 1 mm, which is available as a separate product.
