Rayher Styropor solid polystyrene egg – a base for painting, covering and felting

The Rayher Styropor egg is a solid polystyrene egg that serves as a base for Easter decorations and craft projects. You can paint it, cover it, decorate it or felt it with wool roving and a felting needle. Because it is made of solid material, it keeps its shape and is easy to work with.

Decorating the polystyrene egg

Water-based acrylic paints are suitable for painting. Solvent-based paints, spray varnishes and adhesives attack polystyrene and can dissolve it. Test them first on an inconspicuous spot. When felting, lay the wool roving on in thin layers and stab it in place with the felting needle. Turn the egg regularly so that the surface becomes even.
