Revell precision scraper – removing flash and details from model parts

With the Revell precision scraper (art. no. 39083) you can tidy up model kit parts. The sharp carbon steel blade removes flash and unwanted details, for example seams and excess material after cutting parts from the sprue.

The tool is 155 mm long and is easy to control even on small parts.

Removing flash cleanly

Place the part on a non-slip surface and hold it so that your free hand is never in front of the blade. Position the blade on the edge of the flash and scrape away from your body with light pressure, using several thin strokes. This takes the material off gradually without cutting into the surface. The most common mistake is applying too much pressure at once: the blade slips and leaves nicks in the part. Check the edge with your finger from time to time and take particular care on fine details.
