Gütermann topstitching thread from series 744506 is a strong sewing thread made of 100% polyester for decorative stitches, topstitched seams and hand-sewn buttonholes. With its silk-like sheen and thickness No./Tkt. 30, it makes seams stand out. You can use it with a household sewing machine or by hand.

The thread is soft and stretchy, colourfast and lightfast, and resistant to tearing and abrasion. The stitch pattern stays even, even on seams under heavy strain, such as on jeans, jackets, blouses or bags. Choose your colour from the options.

Sewing with the topstitching thread

For machine sewing, thread the topstitching thread as the upper thread and use ordinary sewing thread for the bobbin. Insert a universal needle NM 100–120, as its eye is large enough for the thick thread. A longer stitch length makes the seam stand out more. Sew a test piece on a fabric offcut first, so you can adjust stitch length and thread tension before sewing the actual piece.
